The gig would be to hand out fliers and do general festival barking to draw interest to our upcoming free season. Our booth is on Soco Street near the stage and has quick access to the A/C, water, a fridge, and private bathrooms of an MPP host home. Sign up for 2 hours sometime between 10AM and 6PM and get free tickets to “The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)”. Auditions will be held Saturday, May 26, from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre, 92 Gay Street, Asheville.  Bring headshot and resume if you have them – it’s not required.  Actors with circus-type performing abilities are particularly being sought.  The Merry Wives of Windsor will be performed July 27 through August 18.  This uproarious social comedy features the hilarious courtships of fat knight, Sir John Falstaff, and is Shakespeare’s only play to deal exclusively with contemporary Elizabethan era English middle class life. Falstaff’s attempts to woo 3 different married women result in a turning of the tables and a hilarious comeuppance.

Audition sides will be posted at www.montfordparkplayers.org beginning Monday, May 21.

Shakespeare (abridged)”, by Adam Long, Daniel Singer & Jess Winfield.  The production will open Thursday, May 10 and will play Thursdays through Sundays through Saturday, May 26, with all shows beginning at 7:30 PM at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre, 92 Gay Street, Asheville 28801.

Can three guys really cover thirty-seven Shakespeare plays in less than two hours? Fresh and updated every year, this fast-firing comedy does just that as it parodies all of the Shakespeare plays (plus the sonnets!) with only three performers in two acts. This play is full of energy as the characters run across the stage and keep you guessing how they will pull off the next play.  Directed by Jeff Catanese and starring Travis Lowe, Bradford Hale and Skyler Goff, this year’s edition of “Complete Works” is brand new and features hysterical topical humor (if the upcoming Mayan Apocalypse is your idea of fun)!

We’ll be cleaning off the porch, picking up trash around the Amphitheatre and getting our home spruced up and ready for our outdoor season opener May 10 – The Complete Works of Wm. Shakespeare (abridged).  Anyone who can give at least two hours (or more) will get a FREE ticket to see this great production!  Do wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

As the businessman said in Christmas Carol, “I don’t mind going if a lunch is provided, but I must be fed if I go.”
