Hazel Robinson (Chair
Emerita; Keeper of the keys)
Hazel
Robinson founded the Montford Park Players in 1973, after seeing
a production of "Twelfth Night" in Minneapolis, Minnesota and deciding
that Asheville needed a Shakespearean troupe. She and her husband
John have nurtured MPP into what it is today: the longest running
Shakespearean company in North Carolina. Hazel now serves as the
Chair Emerita to the Board of Directors.

Julie Carter (Playbill)
Second Term ends 2008
Julie has been involved with MPP since 2000 when her oldest daughter
decided she wanted to act and auditioned for Christmas Carol. Julie
worked as a dresser for the run that year. Since then, Julie has
stage managed Christmas Carol in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and assistant
stage managed in 2003. She has been on the Board of Directors since
2001 and served a one-year term as Chair starting in August of 2004.
Julie has also had the honor of stage managing for Love’s
Labour’s Lost and Comedy of Errors. She has been designing
the playbills for each production for the past couple of years.
So far her only onstage performance with MPP has been appearing
as Mistress Quickly in Henry IV, part I. When not spending time
at the MPP home base, Julie worked with Highland Rep stage managing

works almost full time, and tries to keep up with her two daughters.

John
J. Robinson: (Archives; Bookkeeper) First Term Ends 2007
John Robinson, the brainchild of MPP has continued to make up the
glue that's helped hold the Montford Park Players togheter since the
beginning. At long last, he's agreed to become a board member after
passing on his usual accounting duties. Without the support and attention
John has given MPP over the years, we wouldn't be anywhere close to
where we are today. |

Advisory Members
Peter Brezny (Website)
Peter
Brezny has been acting with MPP since age 6, in his debut role as
Boy Macduff in the 1976 production of Macbeth. Since that time, he
has been an active member each year either working in lights, sound,
set construction, stage management, assistant direction, or acting.
The year 2001, Peter's 25th anniversary as a member of MPP, was one
of his most involved; acting treasurer to the board, assistant to
the TD for Macbeth, acting as Macbeth, and finally being voted Chairman
of the board during the October board meeting. Peter has high hopes
of encouraging productive organizational structure while continuing
to support and expand the diverse creativity the organization already
posesses. |
